Andrew (Andy) Bennett Currie, age 64, of Gotha, Florida, passed away peacefully February 19, 2021.

Beloved husband to his high school sweetheart, Marylynn.  Loving father of Neal and Austin.  Preceded in death by his parents Donald K. Currie and Mary Lou Currie.  Dear brother to Allison (John) Dunahay, Scott (Mary) Currie, James Currie, Matthew (Leslie) Currie, and Daniel Currie.  Admired uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Born July 19, 1956 at Fort Benning, GA and raised in Birmingham, MI before settling in Gotha, FL.

Andy was an accomplished musician playing the drums in several rock-n-roll bands in his younger years.  He loved going to concerts and seeing his favorite bands play live.  He enjoyed watching minor league and NHL hockey games with his sons.  He cheered for the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning.  Andy brought many colors to Florida.  If you've visited any of the theme parks in Florida you've seen his work.  He was President of the Currie Painting Company, a commercial and industrial painting contractor.  Andy enjoyed mentoring young, aspiring painters to help them find their footing in this demanding profession.  His big booming voice disguised his gentle, caring and loving nature.  Andy will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone, Mike Conley Hospice House, 2100 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont, FL 34711.  For all the loving care they provided to Andy.
