IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara J.
Mojave
May 20, 1939 – March 4, 2025
Barbara Mauldin Mojave, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Royal Highlands, Leesburg, Florida, on March 4, 2025. She was born on May 20, 1939, in Orlando, Florida, at Orange Memorial Hospital.
A dedicated professional, Barbara retired from AT&T Payroll, where she was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers. Before her tenure at AT&T, she ran her own Upholstery and Custom Drapery business and explored a career in Real Estate during her time in New Jersey in the 1980s.
Barbara found joy in the beauty of nature, often spending hours watching her Koi fish swim and observing the wildlife that frequented the golf course and wetlands behind her home—sandhill cranes, hawks, turkeys, turtles, and even gators. Her connection to the natural world was a cherished part of her life.
Barbara was an avid participant in T.O.P.S (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Ladies. She loved to sew, travel, and socialize, and was a beloved part of her Royal Troon neighborhood, spending countless hours surrounded by family and friends.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, and her love for them knew no bounds. She is survived by her children Randy Dumas and wife Sharon, Denise Cappellano, and Michelle Latford and husband Don; her grandchildren Edward "Cappy" Cappellano and wife Brandie, Allison Cappellano, Greg Dumas, Casey Arroyo Chavez and husband Angel, and Nick Dumas; her great-grandchildren Ruby, Xavier, Addie, Lilly, and Baby Girl Cappellano (on the way) and her sister, Mary Alice Smith. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews: Marie, Joe, Chris, Rhonda, Lisa, Melanie, and Roger.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Mojave; her children: Mark, Robin and Todd Dumas; her parents, Walter E. and Dorothy Walker Mauldin and her brother, Lanny Mauldin.
Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Barbara's memory will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends.
As per Barbara's wishes, a private memorial service for family will be held graveside. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Cornerstone Hospice of Lake County or The Dementia Society of America. Condolence correspondence may be mailed to Cremation Choices, 921 S US Highway 27, Minneola, FL 34715 and will be forwarded to the family.
Her legacy of love and compassion will remain with us always.
