Brian David Hammersley of Minneola, Florida
1974-2016
Brian David "Hammer" Hammersley was born on March 31, 1974 in Indianapolis, IN to Michael and Lois(Hopkins)Hammersley. He was the oldest of five children. Brian passed away from a heart attack at 11pn on August 8th at South Lake Hospital.
Brian attended Ben Davis HS and was on the swim team with many of his lifelong friends; he graduated in 1992. He want on to college at Ball State University for two years before joining the Marines. Brian shipped off to Camp Pendleton on the Buddy Program to complete basic training. He received his honorable discharge in 1999. He brought many stories home to his family and friends that colorfully and humorously illustrated the good and the bad times he spent in the Corps.
In May 2006, Brian married his wife, Salina Keller at Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN. They have two beautiful children, Briana (11) and Braden (5) Hammersley.
He moved to Florida in 2013 and quickly found work in sales. His easy-going nature and "gift of gab", as his wife would say, allowed him to win people over with relative ease. His seemingly unending sea of family and friends is a testament to his charisma, character and heart. He was always quick with a smile and ready for fun; especially if it involved his kids.
Brian is survived by: his wife, Salina Keller; his children, Briana & Braden; his parents: Mike and Lois and his siblings: Brandon (Brandy) Hammersley, Kristen Hammersley, Kylie (Shane) Burfield and Kelsey (Chris) Russell. He is also survived by his Grandmother Mary Ellen Hammersley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 4:00PM at Cremation Choices with a visitation prior from 2-4PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations can be made directly to his children, Briana & Braden Hammersley. Checks can be made out individually to the children. If any questions, please contact Salina Keller, Brian's wife and mother of children, (317) 201-2299.
