Brian “Scot” Bentley was born June 24, 1958, in Owosso, Michigan; the son of Kenneth and Ruth “Shirley” (McLachlan) Bentley. He graduated from high school at Cedar Lake Academy in Cedar Lake, Michigan. Scot furthered his education by obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree. He married Rochelle (Coeur-Barron) in the early 80’s and made their home in Modesto, CA; the couple had two children and later divorced. Scot was employed at BRC Stockton, CA, and was later transferred to BRC/ACS in Waite Park, MN. He married the love of his life, Lisa (Ruehle), on August 8, 2002, in Las Vegas, NV; the couple resided in the St. Cloud area until his retirement. Scot and Lisa wanted to have fun in the sun and decided to move to Leesburg, FL in 2019.

Scot enjoyed motorcycle rides, wakeboarding, camping, woodworking, photography and expressing his creativity through the things he built and memorable moments he captured. He was a music enthusiast, outdoors extraordinaire and such a familiar face in the Pine Hill community. Among his close friends and neighbors, he was affectionately known as “The Mayor.” Scot was caring, social and loved to get a true belly laugh from family and strangers alike. He especially loved hearing children laugh and playing on their level. Above all else, Scot will be deeply and truly missed by all who knew him from near and far.
