Obituary

The Reverend Carl T. Cannon, 81, of Lake Mary, passed away on November 9, 2020.

Born September 5, 1939 in Orlando, Florida.  Attended schools in Orlando, graduating from Boone High School in 1957.  Joined the USAR in June of 1957, serving six months of active duty and 7 1/2 years reserves.

Attended FTU (now UCF) and graduated in 1970 with a BA degree in Sociology.  Started his seminary training at Seabury-Western Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, graduating with a Masters of Divinity degree in 1973.

Ordained a Deacon in the Episcopal Church in June, 1973 and ordained a Priest on December 21, 1973 by the Bishop of Central Florida, William Folwell.

Served Churches in Sanford, FL; Orlando, FL, St. Petersburg, FL; Pulaski, TN; Memphis, TN and Baton Rouge, LA.  Moved to Clermont, FL in 1999.  For final retirement, moved to Oakmonte Villages, Lake Mary, FL.

Married Linda Gail Pease of Westminster, MD and Orlando, FL.  Three daughters:  Kimberly Brashears of Athens, AL; Susan Frymyer of Casselbury, FL and Sherrie Hicks of Germantown, TN.  Five grandchildren:  Kristin Walker of Madison, AL; Amanda Hancock of Denim Springs, LA; Drew Hicks, JT Hicks and Will Hicks all of Germantown, TN.  Is a proud great grandfather of Brynley and Cameron Hancock.

Linda died of cancer in June, 2010 and he then moved to Freedom Pointe, The Villages in October, 2011.  Returned to Clermont in January, 2013.

Was very active in Rotary Clubs for 48 years.  He was a Paul Harris Fellow twice; past president of three Rotary Clubs plus other offices.

He and Linda enjoyed flying their own plane for 15 years, which enabled them to see the US and Canada.  He also enjoyed playing golf and reading.
