Obituary

Carol King Luebke 79 of Maitland, Florida passed away peacefully on May 11, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. A true testament to her unwavering spirit and determination, she battled for years longer than thought possible. Carol was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on December 16, 1940 delivered by her uncle Dr. Wayne Aiken. She graduated from Henry W. Grady High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree magna cum laude from Erskine College in South Carolina. She was an extremely accomplished concert pianist. She enjoyed her career as a sales associate at Sears for over 10 years. She loved reading her books and spending time with her family. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Elsie King, sister Claudia King, and beloved son Robert B. Luebke III 1961-1970.
She is survived by her brother Ray A. King, son Jon Luebke, daughter Lisa Rapson her husband Rick, daughter Dotty Lawrence her husband Rob, and daughter Christine Schmid, her nephews Ray Jr. and Wayne King and niece Kay Allison Stranges. She was a proud "Nana" to her beloved grandchildren Lindsey Bouyelas, Kayla Rapson, Alex Rapson, Andrew Rapson, Samantha Schmid, Hannah Schmid, Caroline Lawrence, and Maxwell Lawrence.
The family would like to express our thanks to her wonderful nurses Mary Martin and Pam Grady.
She will be interred at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta Georgia next to her firstborn son Robby. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org in her name. Due to COVID-19 her memorial service date is to be announced.
