Charles "Chuck" Edward Liddick, Jr., 86, of Clermont, FL/Locust Grove, VA, passed away on January 7, 2025. He was born in Pennsylvania to the late Charles Edward Liddick, Sr. and Anna (Wilson) Liddick. In addition to his parents, Chuck was predeceased by his siblings, James Liddick (Lynn Liddick of Kernersville, NC) and Peggy Bitting (dear friend Joe Bower of PA). A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Chuck's family meant the world to him.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Vera (Hall) Liddick; his children: Leilaini McNally of Ft Myers, FL; Tracy Li of Clermont, FL; and Scott Liddick of Churchton, MD; his stepdaughter Dawn Jameson of China Grove, NC and stepson Lance Jameson of Washington DC; his 3 grandchildren: KJ Li (Jessie), Ryan Li (Michelle) of Clermont, FL and Harlee Liddick of Churchton, MD; as well as 2 great-grandchildren Jake and Jett Li of Clermont, FL.
Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, an experience that shaped his values of discipline and dedication. After his military service, Chuck built a remarkable 37-year career at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where he ultimately retired as the head of the Satellite Control Branch. In this role, he contributed to weather forecasting and global understanding through satellite imagery.
In retirement, Chuck and his wife embarked on a 14-year adventure, traveling the U.S. and Canada in their RVs, before settling in Clermont, FL, and Locust Grove, VA. A passionate sports enthusiast, Chuck enjoyed baseball and football in his youth and remained active in bowling, fishing, hunting, and especially golfing. He leaves his loving memories of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends from his military service, high school, golfing with Lake of the Woods friends, and wonderful neighbors and golfing groups in the community at Clerbrook Golf and RV Resort.
Chuck will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his love for adventure, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the many lives he touched over the years.
