Christine Place, 54, of Leesburg passed away April 27, 2021, at Cornerstone Hospice in Clermont. Florida after a long battle with multiple health issues.  Christine was born on Christmas Day 1966 in Davenport Iowa to Marcia (Loftus) Welch and Steven Loftus.

A gifted student she attended Assumption High School in Davenport Iowa, Graduated from Park high School in Racine Wisconsin at 14, and Gateway Community College at 17 later graduating with honor from DeVry University.

Unique and strong from birth she conquered every obstacle.  Hand surgeries did not stop her from mastering the flute, needlepoint, keyboards, crocheting or riding her pony Snowball.  While raising 4 children she still found time to finish her degree, work as an accountant, manager of Jackson Hewitt Office, and several remote positions including U-Haul.

Her multiple health issues kept mounting but her strength, faith and determination pushed her on.  A serious health setback in 2020 became overpowering to even her amazing spirit and she finally surrendered her soul.  But her spirit lives on with her children:  Cory Place, Orlando; Justin Place and his wife Sylvia, parents of her 3 grandchildren:  Matthew, Abby, and Gordon all of Kissimmee; Nicholas Place, Kissimmee; and Alicia Place. Kissimmee.

She is survived by her mother Marcia and stepfather Larry Wilson, Leesburg, aunt Cathy and cousins Cameron and Connor, all from Iowa and numerous family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister Courtney Loftus, grandparents Frank and Dessa Welch, Edna Loftus, Aunt Jeanine Welch, and Ronald and Ron Trich Jr.

Per her request she was cremated with no formal service. An informal Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends in the middle of June.  A special thank you for Cornerstone Hospice and all the medical personnel who worked so hard to help her.
