Tice
August 29, 1945 – June 17, 2025
Daniel Tice, 79, of Yalaha, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Orlando to the late JD and Leota (O'Neil) Tice, Daniel was one of eight children and spent his early years in Apopka, where he formed a lifelong love for the natural beauty of Wekiwa Springs. His childhood was marked by a spirit of adventure and a strong sense of duty, qualities that would define his life.
At just 17, Daniel enlisted in the United States Navy, beginning a proud and distinguished military career. He served two tours in Vietnam, rising to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8), and earning the respect of those who served beside him. Daniel's service was marked by steadfast leadership, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to his country. He retired from the Navy in 1986 after more than two decades of honorable service.
Following his military retirement, Daniel continued to live a life guided by discipline, devotion, and love for his family. He was a man who valued hard work, loyalty, and integrity, traits he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Gabriele (Bauer) Tice; his children Melissa, Mary, Daniel Jr., Patti, Audrina, and Terri; and his cherished grandchildren: Aurora, Alexis, Emalia, Livia, Daniel, Devoun, Daniel "DW," and Cayla. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Michael.
Daniel's legacy lives on in the family he so deeply loved and in the example of service and strength he set for all who knew him. He will be remembered as a proud Navy veteran, a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a grandfather who lit up every room he entered with quiet pride and deep affection.
