David William Pearce, 69, of Clermont, passed away on September 14, 2023, in Leesburg, Florida. He was born on August 4, 1954, in Washington, DC to the late William D. and Muriel (West) Pearce. David was nick-named "Dusty" after professional baseball player Allen "Dusty" Cooke. He was employed by Abbott Industries in Austin, TX; the tech industry in Asheville, NC, and Everett-Morrison Motorcars in Tampa, Florida. Growing up and living in Maryland, he developed a love for race cars and was active with stock car racing teams in the Maryland and Virginia areas. David was a huge NASCAR fan and went to races, watched them on television and collected memorabilia. He had the ability to fix anything and enjoyed restoring Barracudas. Also, an avid World War II buff, he had an extensive book and DVD collection, with an interest in airplanes and battleships. He visited as many museums as he could.
David loved his family and played an active part in his nieces and nephews' lives while they were growing up. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his four sisters: Patricia Silvas, Beverly Oyler (Alan), Virginia Pearce and Cynthia Abell (Larry); his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
