Ernest J. Peters Sr. passed away May 26, 2020 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center.  He was 85 years old.

Ernie was born and raised in New York, NY.  He moved to Howell, NJ in 1967 and retired with his wife Muriel to Wildwood, Florida in 1997.

For 45 years he worked in the Hotel Trades beginning in 1952 as a cook at the Commadore Hotel.  Ernie was a Business Agent for Local 6 and retired as Vice-President and Regional Manager in 1997.

Ernie was drafted into the US Army in 1958.  He served as a Light Vehicle Driver working at the Pentagon.  He was honorably discharged in 1960.

Ernie loved hockey and was a lifelong fan of the New York Rangers.  He was an avid golfer and coin collector.  He was an outgoing man who loved spending time with his family & friends, especially vacationing in the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

He is pre-deceased by his wife of 41 years Muriel and his son in law Raymond Poyer.

He is survived by his long time companion Ann Snyder of Wildwood, FL, his son Ernest J. Jr. and his wife Patti of Howell, NJ, his 3 daughters, Barbara and her husband David Mucci of Northfield, NJ; Susan Poyer of Howell, NJ and Jean and her husband John Donnellan of Howell, NJ.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Scott (Madeleine), Steven (BethAnn), Christina (Mike), Tara (Nick), Samantha (Brent), Danielle (Mike), Nicholas, Elisabeth, Matthew, Zachary, Nathan and Alexandra and 5 great-grandchildren; Scarlet, Graham, Arthur, Alice and Leonard.

A memorial mass and celebration of Ernie's life will be held in NJ at a future date.
