IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jay M.
Dixon
February 18, 1971 – December 19, 2025
Jay Michael Dixon, 54, of Minneola, FL passed away at his home on December 19, 2025. On that sad day, we lost a son, brother, husband, father, friend and child of God.
Jay was born in Fremont, Ohio on February 18, 1971 to Roger Dick (Donna Durst) and Teresa Sue Crooks-Dixon. He was married to Karen Price on March 19, 2005. Together they brought a beautiful son, Sean Malone Dixon, into the world on November 9, 2006.
Jay also left behind an older brother, David (Angie), a younger brother, Nathan Dixon, and a step sister, Sarah Durst.
He was a graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic in Fremont, Ohio, class of 1989. In that year, he joined the Ohio Army National Guard and of this, he was steadfast and proud. He earned a Bachelor of Business Management degree at Francis Marion University and later acquired a real estate brokers license. He worked various jobs over the years.
Jay was incredibly intelligent and funny…his wit and sense of humor always kept us laughing. And, though his life was not an easy one and he walked a road filled with challenges, some visible and many unseen, those who truly knew him understood that his burdens were never a reflection of his worth. He is such a significant part of our shared history.. of the countless happy memories with family, friends, cousins, aunts, uncles…The family vacations where he was affectionately nicknamed JayScone, the stories of high school sports with his lifelong gang of buddies, the Sunday evening gatherings on Vine Street, him remodeling his house in Cincinnati, the love that he had for his dogs, the visits to Ohio after moving to Florida in 2004 and so much more. All of this matters because he mattered.
Jay was especially passionate about United States Military Veterans and in recent years, much of his time and attention was devoted to assisting veterans in any way he could, always willing to help, listen, or advocate for those he felt deserved support and respect, as well as being a proud member of Project:VetRelief.
Jay's absence will leave us heartbroken. He was loved deeply and he will be missed beyond measure, but his memory will remain woven into our lives. Jay, for all you were and all you will always be, we salute you!
A celebration of Jay's life will be scheduled at later date. Donations can be made to Project:VetRelief or to Jay's son, Sean.
