IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey D.
Kidd
July 21, 1962 – August 8, 2024
Jeffrey Dennis Kidd, 62, of Minneola, passed away quietly in the comfort of his home on Thursday, August 8, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.
Jeff found inner peace and strength in his life when he accepted the Lord into his heart. On the evening of March 21, 2020, at a kitchen table in Missouri, while sitting with caring friends and his wife, Karen, Jeff admitted his fears, brokenness, and need for a Savior. Moved by the Spirit, he read "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9. The Spirit moved him in prayer; tears flowed all around the room. Jeff now had the assurance of Heaven forever.
In the days that followed, it was evident that his life was beginning anew, and he was making God the center of it by attending Bible study twice a week. Jeff, along with Karen, were baptized in a pond at a Christian ranch in the presence of their loving children, all during a world shutdown! God is so good. After praying about what to do next, he relocated to Florida for work and to be closer to his aging parents. Jeff sought out a Bible-teaching church and was gifted with a devout mentor for over two and a half years. Wisdom, generosity, and very practical help was shared with him. He happily opened his home to church family and others once a week for prayer, fun, fellowship, food and study of the Word. Time with spiritual men inspired him. Jeff joyfully served at the local church and shared the Good News with others. In his last weeks, he was in awe of the outpouring of love, food, help and prayer from his church family. He was truly thankful for God's grace in his life.
Jeff's children were his world, and he delighted in raising them. He loved being a dad and taking part in all their extracurricular activities while growing up: attending ballet recitals and scout meetings, listening to school concerts, and coaching little league baseball. Through all the ups and downs, he cherished their moments together. Jeff also enjoyed spending his leisure time playing the saxophone, golfing, DIY home and auto repair, vacations at Lake Michigan, travels to historic sights, boating, hiking, biking and lakeside picnics. His most favorite thing to do however, was spending time with family and friends.
A loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle, Jeff is survived by Karen, his wife of 39 years; his children Clarissa and Ian; his mother Janice; his sister Anne and husband Dan; his niece Zoe; his nephew Isaiah as well as countless friends. Jeff was predeceased by his father, Dennis Kidd.
A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Grove Church (SDA sanctuary), 498 W. Montrose Street, Clermont, FL 34711.
