John "Bob" Robert Hungerford, 87, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Mount Carmel, Illinois, to the late Virgil and Bessie Mae (Beals) Hungerford. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before building a long and honorable career as an ironworker in structural steel, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication.

He spent many years living in Evansville, Indiana, where he raised his family, before retiring and relocating to Leesburg, Florida. Bob was a devoted member of Celebration Baptist Church in Leesburg, where his faith and love of fellowship were evident to all who knew him.

In his free time, Bob found joy on the golf course and through singing, both of which brought him happiness and connection with others. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Molly (Walker) Hungerford; his children, Lisa Hungerford, Lora Sisk and husband Larry, and Keith Hungerford and his wife Linda; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; his siblings, Elizabeth Etheridge and husband Mike, Sara Bixby, and Mary Goad; his mother-in-law, Sue Abshire; and his brothers-in-law, John Walker and wife Judy, and Tom Walker and wife Denise.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his siblings, Barbara Heil and Dana Hungerford, and his grandson, Evan "EJ" Hungerford.
