Obituary
After an extended illness, John Robert Watkins (J R), 65 years of age passed away quietly Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 7:31 am in Clermont, FL. He was with his life partner Lynn Harper-Frazier at the time of his death.
He was born July 6, 1951 and graduated from Anderson High School in 1969. He also attended and graduated from Anderson College. J R was actively involved in boating on their 46' Jefferson Motor Yacht, 'MS Lynn D'; he loved playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
J R's career included obtaining a teacher's license through the State of Indiana Department of Public Instruction. He worked 34 years at General Motors / Delco Remy International as an electrician / Maintenance Manager. He was promoted eventually to Plant Manager with Delco Remy International. In his capacity as Plant Manager J R traveled extensively to China, Hong Kong, and Mexico. J R and Lynn traveled many international miles together with the company until his retirement in 2005.
He is survived by his partner of 26 years, Lynn Harper-Frazier, Leesburg, FL; June Watkins, mother, Amy Watkins, daughter, Jordan Watkins, grandson, Sydney Watkins, granddaughter, Karen Myers, sister, April Myers, Niece, Keely Myers, Great Niece, Gretchen Smith, Niece and family all of Anderson, IN; Connie Watkins, sister and husband Dave, and Mathew, nephew all of Elmhurst, IL; DeAnn Frazier, Nashville, TN, Donny Frazier, Lafayette, LA, Daryn Frazier, Pensacola, FL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Palmetto, FL at a future date.
