Obituary

Meredith Ann (Mennie) Petrone, 78, of Davenport, passed away on May 11, 2023. She was born in Providence, RI to the late Morrison B. and Elizabeth (Baron) Mennie. Meredith graduated from Pawtucket West High School, Class of 1962 and was employed as a switchboard operator for New England Paper Tube Co. for many years and prior to that was also a switchboard operator at Apex. She lived in the Fairlawn section of Pawtucket, RI until moving to Davenport, FL in 2011. Meredith enjoyed day trips to Disney World (Tinkerbell was her favorite character) and was a fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and was a season ticket holder of the Providence Bruins for many years and enjoyed going to the games. Above all, Meredith loved spending time with her family especially get togethers during the holidays and at cookouts. She is survived by Michael, her loving husband of 32 years; her children, Merry (Holburn) and husband Robert and Scott Holburn and wife Lynn; her grandchildren: Brittney and Vanessa Ross, Thomas and Jamilyn Holburn, and Abigayle Shippee; her step-grandchildren: Paige (Shippee) Coyle and husband Chris, Lea and Ian Shippee, Amber, Kyle and Ashley Romano; her step-great-grandson, Aiden Coyle; her siblings: Cynthia (Mennie) Campopiano and husband Dennis, William (Bill) and partner, Donna; her in-laws, Debbie (Petrone) Albanese and husband Joe; Gary and wife Vickie; her niece and nephews: Christina Campopiano, Jason Mennie, Jonathan Rondeau, Dennis Campopiano, Derek Albanese and Nick Petrone; and lots of cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Thomas Holburn, Jr., her granddaughter, Patience Schenck-Holburn; her sister, Susan (Mennie) Curtis and husband Howard, sister-in-law Deborah (Marsh) Mennie and nephew Todd Mennie.
