Michael Lee Ferguson, 78, of Clermont Florida passed away on April 30, 2022.

Mike was born on May 22, 1943 to Jane and Ralph Ferguson in Tipton, Indiana.  Mike grew up in Sheridan, Indiana until 1960 when his family moved to Pine Castle, Florida.  He worked at Cape Canaveral on the Apollo project and then went to work for GE.  After moving to the Winter Garden area, Mike began working as a heavy equipment operator and then finally a mechanic for Walt Disney World.  He worked there for 32 years before retiring in September of 2009.  Mike also served in the Army National Guard.

Mike married his wife, Darlene, on April 26, 1986.  He was the proud father of 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  Mike was a charismatic man with a huge sense of humor and loved living life to its fullest.  He enjoyed antique tractors, racing and spending time with family.  It didn't matter if he was at a baseball game, race track, football game or just in his backyard, you could always finding grandpa (pepaw) cheering on or just spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mike was predeceased by his parents Jane and Ralph Ferguson and his two brothers Karl and Dennis Ferguson.  He is survived by his children Andrew (Lynda) Ferguson, Laura (Michael) Brouwer, Jerry (Yvette) Walker, Heidi (Trish) Nuskievicz, and Wendy McMinn; his grandchildren Heidi (Todd) Strausbaugh, Karly (Braden) Delmar, Randy Walters, Brandon Walters, Brandon (Rachel) Brouwer, Amanda (Mark) Ferguson, Cody (Melissa) Love, Logan Brouwer, Sam McMinn, Sidney McMinn, Aidan Lapp, and Evelyn Lapp; and his great-grandchildren Annabelle Potter, Savanah Love, Parker Brouwer, Connor Brouwer, and Jaxson Love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Oakland Meeting Hall, 221 N. Arrington, Oakland, FL 34760.  In Lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the South Lake Animal League, 4648 Baptist Island Road, Groveland, FL 34736.
