IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pablo
Gonzalez
February 14, 1938 – September 28, 2024
Pablo Gonzalez, 86, of Clermont, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was born in Tuy, Spain, a small town just outside of Vigo to the late Antonio and Gumercinda (Tojeira) Gonzalez. He emigrated to Argentina with his family, where he met the love of his life, Luisa. They were married in 1960. After having two children and finding life difficult in Argentina, he decided to move to the U.S., and in 1970 sold everything they had and got on a plane with his family to New York City not knowing the language or what to expect. Just two days after arriving in the U.S. he had a new job and an apartment in the first month. Within three years, he started his own business and in four years, he bought his first house. He became a U.S. citizen in 1980. He was always a hard worker with great family values. He truly embodied what it means to live the American dream. When he retired, they moved to Florida where he was always helping his neighbors with small tasks and home repairs. Never one to stop, he was always working on projects around the house until he no longer could. He will be dearly missed by his entire family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Pablo is survived by Luisa (Cabanas), his beloved wife of sixty-three plus years; her son Gerardo Gonzalez; her daughter Roxana Hoppe; her five grandchildren: Cynthia, Christina, Matthew and wife Heather, Daniel, Alicia and his two great granddaughters, Madison and Adalina.
