Patty "Pat" L. Richmond of Clermont, Florida passed away on July 22, 2021. Born on March 17, 1946 in Alliance, Ohio to Constantine J. & Opal (Mottishaw) Common, she lived in the Alliance, Sebring, and Salem areas of Ohio most of her life.
Graduating in 1965 from Alliance City High School, she went on to business school and worked for Bud's Discount Drug Store in Alliance, and Royal China in Sebring. After raising her children as a stay-at-home wife and mother, Pat worked for Home Care Advantage, Inc in Salem as an in-home caregiver.
A member of the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene for many years, Pat taught children's Sunday school, supported missions education, chaperoned youth missions events, and went on trips to New York City to minister to the homeless and disadvantaged. She also volunteered in the PTA/PTO at her children's school. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for several years. After moving to Florida, Pat was an active member of Citrus Heights Church of the Nazarene.
Pat enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, canning, and traveling. She loved exploring the local sites and eateries, and was a regular at Uncle Kenny's Barbecue, Clermont Café, and the Florida Citrus Tower. Pat enjoyed getting to know people and quickly made friends. First Friday Food Truck events, Pig on the Pond, and car shows were among her favorite activities.
Pat was the devoted wife to Jimmie C. Richmond, with whom she had shared 46 years of marriage. He and Pat's parents, Constantine J. & Opal (Mottishaw) Common preceded her in death. Pat is survived by daughter Sharon Richmond of Clermont, Florida, son James P. (Mandy) Richmond of Canfield, Ohio, grandson Gavin M. Richmond, and many cousins and in-laws.
Following cremation, a memorial service and celebration of life will take place at a time to be determined by family.
