Penny Dannell Sword, 61, of Lady Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Elgin, Illinois to the late Hartzell Dewey and Edna Mae (Orr) Smith and grew up in nearby Hanover Park. Penny loved her family endlessly; enjoyed living in Florida and spending time working in her yard. She treasured the time spent at the lake with her husband Billy and their dog, Petey. Penny was strong and had a gift of caring for loved ones, especially during the end of life. Laughter with Mulberry Street girls was often followed by "Dewey Dewey". Penny will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her granddaughters, Brittany and Katie; and her sisters: Gail, Susie, Debbie, Violet and Naomi. In addition to her parents, Penny was predeceased by Billy, the love of her life; her daughter NaTisha; her grandson Nicholas and her sisters, Denise and Beverly.
