Robert Paul Bright, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully in Clermont, Florida on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 84. Bob was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Francis and Dorothy (Alexander) Bright. He was a 1957 graduate of Carrick High School then served in the U.S. Army Reserves. In 1958 he began his career at Duquesne Light Company and worked his way up to systems analyst, retiring in 2000 after 41 years of dedicated service. He met Donalee, also a Duquesne Light employee, at a Halloween party in 1964 and they were married one year later.
Bob was a very active cyclist. His trips included riding from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC, the National Parks in Wyoming, Montana and Colorado, and a ride in New York State. He was also an avid 10k runner. He was especially proud of running in six Pittsburgh marathons and six Disney marathons; one of which was the inaugural Disney marathon in 1994. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, also known as SPEBSQSA, and the Allegheny Good Tyme Singers. His adventure for life was truly an inspiration for all.
He is survived by Donalee (Albrecht) Bright, his loving wife of 58 years; his children: Michelle (John) Intrieri, David (Chauna Craig) Bright, Tami Bright, Becky Bright; his grandchildren: Taylor (Tom) Buffalari, Ryan Intrieri, Canyon and Kiara Martinez, Lydia, Logan and Kai Bright, Wyn and Zo Farrington; his great-granddaughter, Sienna Buffalari; his sisters Donna (Joe) Czarny, Suzanne (Rege) Evanov; his sister-in-law Darlene (Bill) Young along with eight nieces and nephews.
