IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Scott Alan
Mccord
July 18, 1956 – April 2, 2022
Scott Alan McCord was born July 18, l956, in Huntington, West Virginia, and with his family, Jim, Jean, Pam and Kathi, moved to Leesburg when he was four and his father became the minister of Leesburg First Christian Church.
Having graduated from Leesburg High School where he sang in Madrigals, he was awarded "Most Talented senior boy," and graduated with a degree in Communication from Florida State University.
Scott built his own company sealing paver bricks and pool decks called Paver Brick Super Seal.
He was passionate about windsurfing and then racquetball, in which sport he excelled, playing some of the top players around the state. Music was such an important part of his life—he would travel to every concert possible, from the Carpenters to Joe Walsh. He seemed happiest when playing the piano.
Scott's dearest friend was his buddy since middle school, Joe Millner-- platonic soulmates.
His father was a Marine, wounded on Iwo Jima and his stepfather a P-38 pilot who flew on D-day, plus 50 more missions.
Scott loved his Real Life Christian Church in Clermont, sitting on the front row most Sundays. Literally hundreds of notes and anecdotes all written in his beautiful handwriting were found in his papers all through his house showing his passion for Christ and following in His footsteps.
He loved his mother dearly and was her right-hand man. He would come running if she ever needed him.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Sterner and sisters Pam Campbell and Kathi Kretzer Sayler. Also his nieces Laura Schadle and Amanda Carr not to mention his 8-pound poodle he loved, named Bob.
Scott died of a heart attack in his home in Oakland, Fl. with his dog by his side.
1 Cor. 2:9 "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived--the things God has prepared for those who love him--"
John 11:25 Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even though they die."
