Steven Michael Sorensen, 69, of Clermont, FL passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Steve was born in Dearborn, MI to the late Amelia and Michael Sorensen. He relocated to central Florida in the early 70's and graduated from Edgewater High School. In his early twenties, Steve worked as a master electrician out at the Cape in preparation of the shuttle program. Steve moved to Green Swamp in the mid 80's where he became known by many as "The Swampman". On his property, he built his and his mother's house from the ground up. He started Trim Specialties where he left his footprints as a master trim carpenter in most of the homes that were built in the 90's and early 2000's in and around Clermont. In his spare time, Steve loved to fish and hunt and was quite the marksman. He was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his devoted wife Lola Sorensen of 25 years; daughters, Melissa Holmes (Kase) of Casselberry and Seana Sorensen (Nick) of DeLand; his step-daughters, Meagan Michelis (Cameron) and Jessica Cole (Geoff) of Atlanta; his grandchildren: Makayla, Makenzie, Kameron, Kaylee, Jacob, Dylan and Tyler; his brother Bruce Sorensen (Amy) and sister Joani Charles; his nephew Daniel Charles (Cindy) and niece Leeann Lemon. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Windermere, FL.
