Obituary

Timothy Joseph Corcoran, Sr., 70, of Clermont, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Mike Conley Hospice House after an almost six-year battle with cancer. He was born to the late Joseph J. and A. Geraldine (Nealon) Corcoran Hoover in Mount Holly, New Jersey. He grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Pennsbury High School (Class of '71) in Levittown, PA. He then continued his education at the Community Medical Center Nursing School in Scranton, PA. He went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science and then a Masters in HR Administration from the University of Scranton. He dedicated much of his life to healthcare and helping others. Most of his career was with the Clarks Summit State Hospital, rising to Chief Nursing Officer. He served on numerous advisory committees and was key in many Pennsylvania State Healthcare issues.
He celebrated 47 years of marriage to Mary Jane "Jani" (Clauss) Corcoran this past August. Their beautiful union brought Tim into Jani's large family where Tim found his place among dozens of in-laws, nieces, and nephews. They added to this clan with their own four children - Erin Brigid, Timothy Joseph Jr, Patrick Peter, and Megan Clauss.
Tim was a very involved Dad - coaching Little League, helping to build school projects, volunteering to film High School Football Games/Theater Shows, and more. Tim was a life-long Philadelphia Sports fan, a passion he shared with his family. An avid reader and lover of history, Tim helped to inspire many family trips to historical sites.
He and Jani also made yearly trips to Walt Disney World, laying a foundation of fun and magic for family vacations and eventually leading to their retirement years in Florida. Retirement brought the realization of several dreams, including traveling the world via cruise ships to locations such as the Caribbean, Europe, Mediterranean, Australia, and Asia.
Perhaps the greatest dream was becoming grandparents and Tim was the perfect "G'Da". Each of his grandchildren love and admire him. His greatest source of pride was his children and grandchildren, all of whom he spoke of often. Erin married David Yunker and had Rebecca Jane, Benjamin Oliver, and William Earle. Megan married Josh Patten and had Nealon Ryan, Margaret Mae, and Peter Richard.
He is also survived his brother, Brian P. Corcoran along with many cousins, extended family, and friends.

Those who wish to honor Tim's legacy in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL at www.moffitt.org or to Cornerstone Hospice at www.cornerstonehospice.org
