Valerie
Wintersgill
Apr 27, 1955 — Jul 5, 2026
Clermont
With our hearts full of sadness, grief and sorrow I would like to announce the passing of my beloved wife and mother, Val Wintersgill. She passed away after a very hard fight with cancer in which she fought courageously and fearlessly never giving in remaining positive until the moment of her passing, surrounded by her loving family at home on July 5th 2026 at the early age of 71.
Val was a woman of remarkable beauty, and a plentiful supply of courage and strength, she was the heart and soul of the party holding out her arms making everyone welcome. She was the most generous person never ever putting herself first she was known for the love she gave always bright and beautiful. Her main pastime was listening to music particularly pop music from the 50s, 60s & 70s. Where she could singalong to most songs. Her most favored film was the Sound of Music which she has watched countless times. She was quite independent and delightfully stubborn, always sharing her opinions whether invited or not.
She deeply loved her family in which meant the whole world to her. She was my best friend, we lived, laughed and worked together all our lives keeping me on my toes with that loving cheeky smile.
Val worked hard all her life she was never happier than when she was meeting people particularly friends and family. Even giving up retirement to start a new adventure in the USA in support of our two sons their wives and our two beautiful grandchildren. She truly had the gift of making people happy.
I met Val when we were only teenagers I fell in love with her from that very moment, we have been together ever since. We have enjoyed a very happy marriage until our final kiss last Saturday evening when she slipped away on her new journey. One that will be of benefit to all new people she meets, until the day I will be able to join her once again, whereby we can continue our romance together for all eternity.
Val is survived by me, her husband Fred of 53 years. Our loving sons and their wives Steven & Tanya, Mark & Leanne, along with our most cherished grandchildren Jay & Abbie. Also, our immediate family her brother and wife Ron & Averil her brothers in law & sister in laws Dave & Maureen, Trevor & Jane, sister-in-law Dawn who tragically lost her husband my youngest brother Kevin last September and brother-in-law Stephen. Plus, lots of nieces and nephews.
Val was a very special person whom is at peace now. Her legacy will live on forever through our family and friends and everyone who was lucky enough to know her. We miss her deeply; God bless her and keep her safe. She will never be forgotten. I love you now and forever.
