Obituary
Vernon Ivan Germain, age 85, Leesburg, died July 1, 2018 at Cornerstone Hospice Tavares.
The Home Going Service for Mr. Germain will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at The Fellowship, 33110 County Rd. 473, Leesburg, FL 34788.
Brother Vernon Germain, was born November 16, 1932 to the late William and Cecile Germain in Roseau Dominica. He received his education from Roseau Boy's School. He began working at an early age and held many positions throughout the islands. Notable positions were as Warden for the Prison of Dominica, Supervisor for Hess Refinery on St. Croix V.I. He also held a medallion and successfully ran his own Taxi service for several years while supporting his family. Vernon met and married the love of his life Joanna (Matthew) Germain on December 31st 1959 and remained happily married for 59 yrs. Vernon was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a choir member.
Preceded in death by Two Brothers: Rudolph Germain of Dominica, Roland Germain also of Dominica, and a Daughter: Shirley Germain of Antigua. He leaves to celebrate his life, his loving wife Joanna Germain, Two daughters: Concetta Germain of NC, Glenda (Anthony) Benjamin of St. Croix VI, Two sons: Desmond Germain of England, Francis (Celest) Germain of GA, Three Brothers Ferdie (Bertile) Germain of GA, Egbert (Medina) Germain of FL, Randy (Denise ) Germain of St. Croix, VI, One Sister Althea Germain of Guadelupe, a Host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
