Wesley T. Brackert

Wesley Thomas Brackert passed away on August 9, 2026. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on October 28, 1988, Wesley’s life was filled with love and cherished memories. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Donna Brackert; his four brothers, Erik, Daniel, Joey, and AJ; and his niece Layla. Wesley was the type of person most of us aspire to be: selfless, kind, compassionate, and honest. He dedicated a significant part of his adult years to helping out his family wherever he could, whether it be household chores, various last minute asks, or providing care for his niece. All that was needed at a moment’s notice without ever expecting anything in return. Alongside his brothers, Erik and Joey, he worked for his father’s family business, Brackert Construction, Inc. Wesley had a passion for collecting novelties, like coins, crystals, rocks, and antiques. He also had a deep appreciation for movies, particularly Mortal Kombat and Godzilla. As a child, Wesley wanted to be Godzilla when he grew up, and although he never exactly did grow to 100 meters, the size of his heart was arguably at such a scale . His generosity was enormous. He was known to go above and beyond in giving the most personal and thoughtful gifts on birthdays and holidays. Even playing scratch off tickets, which he did frequently, was all in effort to one day win big and take care of his family. His attention to detail and consideration for others was evident in every gesture he made. Naturally industrious and never idle, Wesley found joy in continuously working on new projects. He found inspiration in the mundane and the often-overlooked aspects of life. He particularly enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to the yard, exploring nature, and fishing with his friends.We remember the smile and the laugh that had the ability to brighten any room. We remember the strength of character that could give reason to self-reflect. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We will always keep you in our hearts, Woozle.
