IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William J.
Kusiak
September 12, 1951 – January 2, 2024
William "Bill" Joseph Kusiak, 72, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend passed away on Tuesday, January 2, with his family by his side. He was born in Jackson, MI to the late Peter and Cecelia (Rand) Kusiak. Bill attended Lumen Christi Catholic School and graduated from Western Michigan in 1973. He began his career with the State of Michigan and retired as a utilities auditor after 35 years of dedicated service.
Bill was so full of life. He loved spending time with his family and cheering on his grandkids during their various activities. He was a known fisherman, hunter and an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Michigan State, Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Lions games; often traveling to many of the MSU bowl games with his kids and grandkids. While living in Lansing, Bill volunteered annually at the St. Casmir Corn Roast and had the prestigious task of counting all the profits for the weekend. When Bill moved to Florida full-time, he instantly made friends, who became his family. It brought him joy to work the front gate in his community of Highland Lakes and greet everyone, especially on Mondays when most of the outside contractors would come in. He enjoyed all card games and sharing his favorite dishes at the community potlucks.
Bill is survived by Mary, his wife of 14 years; his sons, Michael and Jonathon; his daughter Carrie Harper and husband Matthew; his grandchildren: Anthony Jacob "AJ" Morley, Isabella "Belle" and Austin Harper; his 21 step-grandkids, his seven step-great-grandkids; his siblings: Rosemary (Chrapek) Tellor and Stanley Chrapek and wife Sandy along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Timothy Kusiak; his sister Mary Jo (Kusiak) Collier, and his step-grandchild, Jordan Pier.
